Finally, there is the tiniest hint of harmony in her life. And maybe a little romance with the handsome detective who bears an uncanny resemblance to Al Pacino in SERPICO.

The characters are genuine and consistent in their quirks, pursuit of their goals, and the relationships among a bunch of highly entertaining people. Sometimes I almost recognized people in my life experiences and sometimes I recognized that I may not be unique in having unlikely images lurking in the corners of my imagination. The good thing here is that Linda Hamner has the gift of being able to put it all down for others to enjoy. It is the unexpected combination of hilarious images and realistic humanity that makes this book endearing. I will never look at a ceiling fan or a blueberry in quite the same way.Product details

I laughed aloud in every chapter of this fast-paced and intelligent book. Wacky characters and an unpredictable plot make for a delightful read. I especially love the dog.
Boobs Over Hollywood is hilarious, yet ultimately heartfelt and genuine. The writing runs from delightfully clever to bitingly satirical, then suddenly pulls at your heartstrings with engaging pathos. The book is filled with vividly drawn characters who, despite their wackiness, are uncannily real and relatable. B.O.H. is a read that charges along like a stampede of garden gnomes -- well worth the trip!
Usually Hollywood creates comedies about us peons. Linda Elin Hamner allows US to laugh at THEM. If you don't want to laugh out loud, don't read this book. If you don't want to root for a poor girl who just wants to play cello, but is stuck fast in the Hollywood living farce, don't read this book. If you want to dream about a glamorous and sane Hollywood - - don't read the book. For the rest of us 311 million Americans - - it's a hit. Boobs Over Hollywood spins a tale straight from reality television hell, with hilarious results. Main character Lena doesn't have much going for her a stalled music career, a dud of a husband, and worst of all, a terrible job working for dimwitted (yet wildly successful) television exec Tony. Her husband takes off for Singapore on another quest for quick riches, her cello-playing fantasies start to resonate more urgently, all while Tony puts on the pressure to get his next reality TV hit on the air, leaving Lena to work out the details of his blue food diet and how to find busty blonde newsanchors. The madcap pacing and deliciously over-the-top plot turns are Linda Hamner's storytelling gifts, leading to laugh-out-loud scenes. If you enjoy Lori Notaro's humor or the sarcastic wit of The Jon Stewart Show, you will recognize in Hamner's writing an eye for the whimsical and a knack for finding meaning out of even the most absurd situations.
