I'm so very sorry for all you have gone through. It takes great strength & passion for what you belive in.... to write down your private life for all to see. When I first sat down to read this book I thought I would read a few chapters and go to bed. Many hours later at 3am with tears streaming down my face I closed the back cover. Truly an amazing inspirational book about love and family and survival. Well written and courageous- a must read.
First I want to say that I was honored to recieve both copies, e-book first and then a signed copy.
The story of this family reaches into depths like no other. With the writer's abilty to share their
inner circle we learn at a deeper level. I have asked for many virtues in life, above all I have
sought truth and this is what I found when I delved into Sleleton's Don't Sleep. Jeff I personally
thank you for the courage you have shown to your wife, your children and those who have learned
that men do not have to live in secrecy from childhood abuse. This book is a raw and real
story of not only surviving but learning to truly thrive.
"Skeletons Don't Sleep" was a powerfully written story of overcoming a traumatic upbringing. What was so unique about this book was that it was written by a couple, and each of their unique voices are brought to light about something so few are willing to talk about. This story was amazing and in the end justice and love prevails. It brought me on an emotional roller coaster ride. I can totally see this story being made into a movie!
This was such a courageous book to write. To heal himself and his family Jeff and his wife Kelly decided to share this private story of Jeff's sexual assualt and the terrible aftermath after admittimng it. This is a well written honest book that I am sure will help others.
Thank you for having the courage to share this. This book will go a long way at helping other survivors of sexual abuse.
When my wife bought Skeletons Don't Sleep, I didn't expect to read it as human interest stories are not my "cup of tea". I picked it up out of curiosity and started reading. It proved amazingly enticing and fast paced. Skeletons was a clear and easy read. My fears of a dreary Oprah-like snooze fest gave way as I had difficulty putting the book down. The authors didn't skirt the issues at all; a direct treatment of such a difficult issue proved a refreshing change.
I downgraded to four stars because the last third of the book is drawn out and hard to read. I can appreciate the verbatim excerpts of the legal record, but the authors didn't condense this part of the book as well as they could. Nevertheless, Skeletons Don't Sleep is a palatable treatise on an otherwise unpalatable topic.
